The Legal Fund also supports legal actions of interest to the genre community at large. While SFWA and the Legal Fund never aim to promote or prolong litigation, it is nonetheless sometimes necessary, just as it is also sometimes financially out of reach. The Legal Fund gives authors the chance to assert their legal rights, bettering the landscape for all writers through fair application of the law.
