The Finalist Scholarship Fund is a vital part of the Nebulas. Every year, finalists receive the amazing news that their work has made it to the shortlist. Most of them want to attend the ceremony in person. For those who do, it can be a deeply fulfilling, emotional experience – those audience members who have seen the tears and joy on a finalist’s face when they are announced as a winner can attest to that fact.
Unfortunately, it’s not free to travel. Whether you take a plane, train, or an automobile, attending takes resources not everyone has. The Finalist Scholarship Fund helps cover the gap. It’s an example of the writerly community coming together to celebrate each other, and to make a wonderful experience possible.
In order to help as much as possible, we deplete the Fund every year. Every year, we depend on the generosity of this community to refill it and support this year’s finalists. Please, consider making a donation in honor of the finalists’ hard work and amazing storytelling!
